KARACHI - Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Saifullah Dharejo informed the Sindh Assembly that the provincial government will take up the issue of inflow of industrial waste from Punjab, causing damage to fertile lands in at the all appropriate forums including the CCI.

KARACHI - At least three people died while ten others fell unconscious after consuming toxic liquor in Gadap Town on Wednesday.
The deceased persons were identified as Allauddin, Essa and Naeem. These three men had been admitted to a private hospital for treatment, but could not survive. The bodies were taken away by the heirs without the completion of any legal formality.

KARACHI (INP) - MQM-H Chief Afaq Ahmed on Thursday filed a petition against the Director General Rangers in the Sindh High Court for contempt of court.
The application was filed after the Rangers failed to provide security to the MQM-H chief on the courts order.
The application submitted by Iqbal Kazmi on behalf of Afaq stated that the orders of the SHC were being violated and the Rangers were not providing him security.
KARACHI - The Sindh Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed a bill (into law) enhancing the status of the provinces oldest alma mater, Sindh Madrassatul Islam, to university.

KARACHI - Lawmakers of the Sindh Assembly, on Wednesday, demanded the government to immediately impose a ban on the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) by public transport, following a deadly cylinder explosion in a van in Hingorja area of Khairpur district on Tuesday.
